Michelle's Notes: 2019-11-28

Michelle's notes from 2019-11-28, five months into her Pulmonary Critical Care fellowship program at UCSD... and 4 months before Covid-19 hit hard globally.

I started the day talking to a very nice 81 year old gentleman who was referred to us from Stanford for PTE / BPA. He kept telling me how highly Stanford had spoken of us, and it just reminded me of what a gift it was to work at UCSD and to be able to have this experience of being one of the premier world centers for CTEPH. I had been thinking for a hot second that maybe I should have gone to Stanford – that maybe they had more PAH instead of CTEPH, plus, they have a phenomenal CF program – but then again, we aren’t referring anyone to Stanford -:)

Photo of Michelle at the 2022 ATS Conference -- one of the two largest international conferences in pulmonary medicine. She had a presentation at the conference, which kind of marked the end of her fellowship program (it will end at the end of this month). The official Dr. Michelle will emerge at her real job at a hospital in San Diego in July.
