Covid-19 ICU doctors

My families in China are all deeply worried about Dr. Michelle, who is in her Pulmonary Critical Care fellowship program, one of the top pulmonary programs in the nation. 

Michelle works long hours in an ICU to treat Covid-19 patients.  My families in China nag me every day: “Tell Michelle to protect herself.”  I told them with great confidence: “Don’t worry, we are in America!” Well, I was shocked when I saw a picture of Michelle today.

Picture 1 is a Chinese ICU doctor who is treating Covid-19 patients.  This is the gear China shipped to doctors in Italy 2-3 weeks ago.

Picture 2 is Dr. Michelle at UCSD hospital ICU treating Covid-19 patients.

We still have a long road ahead of us, and the road looks pretty scary to me… I can only hope that our healthcare workers have means to protect themselves!
