Not sure how many different ways she has to say the same thing. But nonetheless, Michelle made the effort to let me know that I have been a cool Mom. This time, she chose the simplest form - a text message - and yet, it is equally cherishable.
Dear Mom, happy Mother’s Day again! Thank you for everything that you do
for me and the way that you’ve raised me to become such a strong,
independent person. Thank you for never limiting or putting restrictions
on me and allowing me to find my own way in this world and to follow my
own dreams and my own path. Thank you for all your support along the
way, which has allowed me to pursue my ambitions without having to worry
anything else. You are an incredible and wise woman and I am so lucky
to have you as my mother. My friends always tell me how cool and awesome
you are, and I tell them, “yeah obviously!” I hope that you see how
your efforts have allowed me to grow into a person that I am proud of
being, which is the most important thing. Thank you for all the guidance
along the way. Love you!
