This goes back to the question I asked myself several months ago -- why do we go out of our way to seek disappointment and rejection? It's amazing how easily and quickly we forget the pain caused by the rejection, and we would do the same stupid thing over and over again... So, there must be something we are seeking or hoping to get! For me, it's the desire to be recognized for my hard work, for the mental exhaustion and physical challenge I've endured when producing these images. The good news is -- I know who I am and what level of art work I can produce. So, while being disappointed, I am not discouraged. The pain will go away before I know it, and some day, I will be good enough to get my 2nd image published on 1x...

The 1x Disappointment -- Again!
Several of my friends suggested that I send the attached image to 1x.com for publication. I did and was deeply disappointed.

The Winter Wonderland...
April 6, 2012 to April 10, 2012
The Canadian Rockies continue to amaze me with her endless charm and elegant beauty. I have to say that I am in love with this place!
Many of my photography friends would not make multiple trips to such a commonly traveled place because they don't believe the images here are "unique" enough -- the place has been photographed by too many people for too many times. But to me, I can't pursue pure photography and consider that as my sole objective. I need to go to places where my heart desires, and photography is only a tool to help me record my love and my life... So, here comes my reasoning for visiting this place 2 times within the past 6 months.

Of course, there is drama on each of my trips. But I really tried very hard to limit it to a manageable level this time. Still, I had to wonder out early in the morning under -19C degree weather to catch the sunrise. The sunset was surprisingly late here. In early April, the sunset was already after 8 PM. So, I just lived through 5 LONG days with 974 pictures. Don't know when I will have time to process them. The good news is -- I did follow Rudi's rigorous instructions on backing up my photos immediately after downloading, so thank god I did not lose any file this time!!
Me and Absolute Nothingness...
